Welcome to Miss Millan's Classroom!

"Far away, there in the sunshine, are my highest aspirations.

I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty,

believe in them, and try to follow where they lead." - Louisa May Alcott

 Philosophy of Education

As a teacher I want to be able to provide children with the knowledge to become happy, healthy, vibrant and successful adults who have the knowledge and skills to reach their goals.  To do this, I realize that it is important to give children a well-rounded education that lies beneath reading, writing, math, science, social studies, and most importantly, in my opinion, the arts.  Through these subject areas, I will aim to cultivate the children's knowledge base and hopefully excite them about learning through my enjoyment of teaching.  Children are the light of our future, and it is important as teachers to make them realize that no matter what the circumstances, they can accomplish their goals and be anything they desire to be!
