After Brandon finished his first year of law school we went to spend the weekend at Panama City Beach. While we were sitting on the balchany watching the sunset Brandon handed me a little black velvet box. I was pretty shocked when I opened it to see a ring he had given me a couple years before that. He laughed and said "What did you think I was going to do this?" as he got down on one knee. I said, "Ok I get it you are being mean you can get up now." But he wouldn't get up, after telling him to get up again he fianlly told me I should put my beer down. I was confused and he said he really thought I should put my beer down. So as I started to he pulled out a little black leather ring box. I instantlly started to cry and could hardly get a yes out when he asked me to marry him. I always thought he would propose at a Dave Matthews Band concert or at the finish of us running a half marathon. It was such an amazing moment and a total surprise. I did not expect him to purpose until he was finished with school. We had originally planned on getting married in Minnesota after he graduated from law school in 2009. But after much consideration and not wanting to put too much stress on him during the bar exam we decided to get married during his winter break of his last year of school. So we decided on a winter wedding. I am extremely excited to get married where our roots are and even more to get married in the winter where you can get the beauty of a (hopefully) white winter. Plus I want to torture my Florida friends with the freezing cold!

The setting is semi-custom made from Precision Set. Brandon had them add diamonds along the basket and the base arch (whatever you want to call it). The center diamond was purchased for an unbelievable bargin at Tallahassee Diamond Source.

Planning Photos Back to Top
We are getting married at the Landmark Center in St. Paul, MN. This place is amazing. We are going for a vintage romantic feel and our colors are going to be deep reds, ivory, and chocolate. I have been saving photos from everywhere for a long time! So if you see a photo that is yours let me know and I will give you credit for it!
The Landmark Center

We are getting married at the Landmark Center in St. Paul, MN. It is such a beautiful location. We will be having the ceremony and reception in the Musser Cortile and the cocktail hour on the second floor. Hopefully while people are enjoying some cocktails Brandon and I can escape outdoors to Rice Park and get some evening photos.
Bridal Bouquet

I really like full bouquets. I want to stay away from the Christmas feel so there will be no greenery in the bouquet. I am really open to most flowers just as long as the bouquet is dark red.
Bridesmaid bouquets

I am having eight bridesmaids and Brandon will have a groomsmaid. All nine will carry smaller white bouquets. Hopefully the same flowers as mine but just white.
Centerpieces
Trees:

These are my inspirations for the tree centerpieces. The center picture is similar to what we will be doing, but minus the funny crystals but then add clear icicle crystals, a group of flowers in the center, and three strands of red crystals. We really like the Manzanita trees. I found some cheap ones that are fake that I am hoping will work. When I get it I will post pictures of it.
Step One

Step Two

Step 3 (without lighting)

Step 3 (with lighting)
Flowers will be added in the square vases and hanging votives with the red lights.

Step 4 (Final step!)
Some how we will figure out a way so you can't see the green floral foam is the hanging votives. The square votives there won't be a problem because they will be burgandy.

We will be adding four hanging chandelier votives filled with flowers on each tree. They will be hanging from red crystal strands.
The Chandelier votives look like this. I got 25 (so 50 votives total) off of ebay. The wiring is white so I will paint them gold.

Around the base of the vase there will be five cylinder vases with a floating candle and five burgandy 3" square vases filled with red flowers.
Candles:

On half of the round tables we will be doing a combination of these pictures. There will be three cylinder vases different levels filled with red crystal gems, red carnations, and a floating candle. Around the base there will be four square 3" burgandy vases filled with flowers.
Table set up:

Down the center table there will be three tree centerpieces and then the bouquets. On the round tables half the tables will have trees and half will have the candle centerpieces; there will be eight of each. In addition to the centerpieces there will be 850 two inch votive candles and about 150 cylinder vases with candles. There will also be 13,000 rose petals on all the tables. We are doing dark brown linens, ivory napkins, and ivory bag style chair covers.
Escort table:

I am thinking of putting up two trees and doing escort cards like this hanging from the branches.

Outside of the pocket folder invite:
I used a stencil to paint the outside of the pocket folder. My brother in law designed the invite and inserts and I put it all together.

 Cake:
Cakes we like, ours is almost identical to the one in the lower right hand corner, but ours will be brown with gold detailing.
Accessories
All the items will be in antique gold. I purchased them from www.reginab.com
Hair and Makeup
Hair:

Make-up:

I tend to wear a little more eye make-up than face make-up. So I am planning on going with a dramatic eye in the gold and brown tones, soft cheak, and soft lips.
Bridesmaid dresses

I told the girls they could get any dress they wanted. I love the dresses they all chose and they will awesome on all of them.

My dog Yuki. My neice, Isadora, loves Yuki. Every time I talk to her she always has to talk to Yuki, it is funny! But she was bumbed that he couldn't come with us when we went and saw her so I made a sign and put it around Yuki's neck for her. I love my dog! Vendor Information Back to Top
