--> These eurrhypine crambids are widespread in North America, and their courtship behavior and host usage should be studied:

1. Metrea ostreonalis Grote: the representative of Cliniodes in eastern N. Amer.
Dirca palustris L., which appears to be the native hostplant, is visibly flowering right now: bright yellow flowers before leaf-out, like spicebush.  The moth flies June - August; cocoons can be expected on the host in the spring.  At right is the known distribution updated from the map published in the News Lepid. Soc. 50(1).  More details in the attachment.

2. Mimoschinia rufofascialis (Steph.)  On mallows (Malvaceae).
