During May of 2011 my wife and I traveled to France to visit one of the areas where my maternal grandfather was stationed in World War I.

The 90 plus letters that he sent home while stationed oversees not only provided information about the locations and activities but it also gave us an insight into him as a person. It is from having his letters that I have been encouraging people to record their own stories and their family history.
