DESCRIPTION

This LED lightsaber was commissioned by my cousin, Joseph.  It is his first ever lightsaber; he also chose the name for it.

Special note: for quite some time, I have wanted to do a leather-wrapped and stitched grip.  But I felt this grip style would be best placed on a simpler-styled hilt.  So, I talked Joseph into letting me give it a test; I left the leather wrap unglued, to facilitate removal later if desired.  I found that once I had the leather all stitched up though, it gripped the metal hilt very well.  After sending pictures to Joseph, he agreed that it looked good, so I removed the wrap, and put down double-sided carpet tape to help secure the leather, should it loosen over time.

I deliberately used leather cord to stitch the ends together, in order to have the stitching as part of the over-all look.  And it came out very comfortable to hold, I think.
