LIBRARY

The Jnana-Deepa Vidyapeeth Library is one of the most important combined libraries of Philosophy and Theology in India. It contains about 97,000 volumes, and a sizable collection of periodicals (back numbers) amounting to 80,000 volumes, in addition to the 375 titles which are currently subscribed to. The majority of these periodicals concerns Philosophy and Theology while others are on allied cultural subjects. Most of them are in English, but quite a number are in Indian languages and also French and German.
The library also has about 44 multi-volume encyclopedias and important collections of sources and source-materials together with quite a number of books of the 16th and 17th centuries, as well as palm-leaf manuscripts.

Monday to Friday :   
     8.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m. for reading & reference
     8.15 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. & 2.30 p.m. to 4 p.m. for issue/                    return of books / periodicals.
On Saturdays
    The  issue counter closes at 12.30 p.m.
