Teaching Beliefs

     My teaching beliefs have been shaped by the experiences I have gone through in my life.  I trust that there will be defining moments in this profession that will both reaffirm and change my beliefs, but for now I believe that there are certain things that should always be present in the classroom.  First, I believe that all students can succeed, given the opportunity to do so.  I also believe that students should be actively engaged in the curriculum.  I believe that by providing students with activities and assignments that they are interested in, we are promoting learning in an enjoyable way.  Third, I think it is important to realize that students do not stop learning when they leave the classroom.  Learning continues at home and in extra-curricular activities.
