***OUR APARTMENT***

***

Here are some pictures of the home we'll be closing on in February. :-)  She's far from perfect but we're looking forward to making her pretty with some paint and a new kitchen eventually.  For now you can look at our apartment pictures though.

I've been in this apartment for over 2 years.  It was my first place.  It's definitely transformed in this time period.  I started out with nothing.  I had the couch and bed delivered the day I moved in.  I had used $7 tray tables as end tables at first and an ancient end table for my TV that was also old and hardly worked.  Oh my how things change in a few years after you start actually making some money after college. :-P My fiance and I should only be here a few more months and then we're moving into our house.

 *LIVING ROOM*

The "Big Red Couch."  Will buy a more neutral sofa when we move.

Below is a chair I reupholstered.  This was my first time.  It's not perfect, but it's okay.  Picked a funky pattern that was on clearance.  The chair itself cost me $1 at a library's garage sale.  All of the other supplies were probably upwards of $50 though.  I tore it down to it's bones, sanded, stained, polyurethaned, replaced all the batting and cushioning, added nailhead trim... what a job!  NEVER AGAIN lol.

*KITCHEN*

Not much to see in my kitchen.  I hate that the kitchen is so small that we can't even have a dining table.  Instead there is a bar area with stools we must eat at that can only accomodate the two of us. :-(

*BATHROOM*

This is my cute little bathroom.  Lots of mirrors here which make it seems a little larger.  It's kind of a melon green.  I did a few stripes above the toilet but they are hard to see in the pic.  The shower curtain is my labor of love.  Hand made out of 2 Amy Butler fabrics.  My first sewing project.

A close up of my shower curtain.  The grommets I hammered in myself. :-)  There are so many wonderful colors in this.

*BEDROOM*

And lastly is my bedroom.  Recently changed some things around.  The color scheme is light blue, chartreuse, dark green, and grey with the maple furnishings.

I painted a few cheap night stands from Walmart.  They've got a lot more character than they had beforehand. :-P

Before:

Custom lampshades I have made for the bedroom...

I made some pillows also in a coordinating fabric.  I kept the duvet neutral as the color is everywhere else.  You can see the night stands and lamps pulled together here.

Some artwork I just finished for above the bed...
