Presently I am working as Associate Professor at the Department of Economic Studies and Planning, Central University of Karnataka, Gulbarga.

Previously, I have served on faculties of leading academic institutions in India including the Sardar Patel Institute of Economic & Social Research (Ahmedabad), Institute for Studies in Industrial Development (New Delhi), Gujarat Institute of Development Research (Ahmadabad), and worked as a consultant to the Research and Information System for Developing Countries (New Delhi). 

I have been involved in research projects sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Scientific and Industrial Research under the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), Geneva.

My books include The Rise of Indian Multinationals: Perspectives on Indian Outward Foreign Direct Investment, (Palgrave Macmillan, New York, 2010; coedited). Indian Multinationals in the World Economy: Implications for Development (Bookwell Publisher, New Delhi, 2008), Transnationalization of Indian Pharmaceutical SMEs (Bookwell Publisher, New Delhi, 2008; coauthored), Industrialization, Economic Reforms and Regional Development (Shipra Publisher, New Delhi, 2005; coedited). Published over 40  research papers, my current research focuses on issues concerning emerging Indian multinationals and internationalization of India's knowledge-based industries.

I am a founding member of the Koshal Development Forum (KDF) for undertaking research activities on the issues of under-development and deprivations in the Koshala region of India.

I have some inclination for literature and have published over 34 poems in various Oriya literary magazines and newspapers.
