Dear Maureen and Anne, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your father. He was always so friendly and funny when we spoke. I saw him at Sally Reed's funeral and he was so nice. I guess between he and your mom, your genuinely loving spirits evolved. I just wanted you to know that I have been thinking about you and I was sorry to have missed the memorial service. Peace be with you and your brother, Peter. With much love, Barbara Alexander

Tiernan Family,
I remember Mr. Tiernan as such a kind individual to me when I was a
student at Jefferson Elementary. There are two people that I remember
fondly for helping me through some difficult times and Mr. Tiernan was
one of them. I was an office aide and Mr. Tiernan helped me earn
confidence in myself which was truly lacking back then.
My prayers are with you.

Paul and I were classmates and friends at LaSalle. I was just reading the 42 yearbook about him and the nickname Wah came to mind. I also was in training at Chapin Hospital in Providence when his sister was a nurse there. Paul was a good man and he will be in my prayers. John Farley M.D.

You and your parents are in my thoughts and prayers. I am deeply sorry
for your loss. I loved your Dad and I will miss him very much. Your dad
had a wonderful and generous heart and spirit.
Uncle
Paul was so kind to me when I lost my father, I will always remember
and be gratful to him for his gentle loving comfort. I felt a bond with
him that I can't well describe.
Your father gave a gift of spirit to many people over many years. He will be sincerely missed by many.
I will always love and miss my Uncle Paul. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.

Peter, Mary, Maureen, and Ann:
My thoughts, prayers, and heartfelt sorrow are with you. Paul was such a wonderful man, he was in a CLASS OF HIS OWN, and touched so many people in such a special way. I will miss his notes, calls, and conversations. He never made distances an obstacle for us.
Paul and Kay were always such a joy to be around. The stories they told, and told so well, made you feel as if you were there. Very similar to Grandma T’s stories. Paul had so much of Grandma and Grandpa T in him.
I’m grateful for the times I did get to spend with him, all the good conversations, and stories he shared with me of my mom.
Again my heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all. I will miss him dearly!
Love, Kate B

Our heartfelt sympathy to your family, what a wonderful person, man and PRINCIPAL Mr.Tiernan was at Jefferson Elementary school. I last saw Mr. Tiernan at a mutual friends memorial-Theresa Kiefer, in August2004, it was so great seeing him after all those years that had passed (since 1972) and he still remembered my brothers and me. Mr.Tiernan was in a special class all of his own and will always have that special place in my heart for how he gave from his heart and touched so many childrens lives especially my brothers. You are in our thoughts and prayers . God Bless,

The Manhattan College alumni community
shares your grief, and is now praying for our fellow alumni and the
family at this time. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as
the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a
little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself … any man’s
death diminishes me". We are sorry for your loss.
