Hello, my name's Jasper Brownrigg, otherwise known on the Internet as "Dark Stalion". I am currently Studying Voice and Opera at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) in Manchester (UK), but in my spare time I like writing music. One of the best ways at the moment to get your music heard, it seems, is by submitting it for use in one of the many community driven MMOs being developed over the internet by independent programmers. One example of this is Genesis (aka PlayGenesis), a dynamic fantasy MMORPG in development by one Gavan Woolery. In Gavan's own words, "Take all of the ideas you have about what a video game is or could be. Now throw them out, because Genesis does not comfortably fit into any given genre. Genesis, as the name implies, is about creation. Imagine a storyline that shifts dynamically with your actions. Imagine having the power to create or destroy any aspect of your environment. Imagine being part of a world where your actions have a profound impact." Genesis is basically a very open ended sandbox of an MMORPG. To take a look at Genesis and it's aims, click here. Another game which I am in the process of creating music is a game being develloped by a team of independent artists. "Infinity is a massively multiplayer online game set in a futuristic persistent universe. Players can discover a huge galaxy with billions of planets and can explore, combat, trade, socialize.. the possibilities are endless!" Infinity will have billions of star systems generated procedurally from seeds, allowing for an enormous game world well beyond what even Eve Online can boast. The aim of the game? To find Earth among those trillions of planets out there floating around their billions of suns.
