The mission of our program is to produce meaningful and useful research in the context of providing clinical services, while at the same time training future leaders in psychology.

Research

  • Increase understanding of the etiology of psychosis through a developmental psychopathology framework.
  • Assess and understand the prodromal phase of psychosis.
  • Develop and investigate psychosocial treatment strategies for youth with or at risk for psychosis.

Service

  • Provide specialized assessments for youth with suspected psychosis.
  • Work with caregivers in a family and client centered fashion.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare providers in an interdisciplinary fashion.

Training

  • Hands-on involvement in clinical research.
  • Real-world community based clinical training.
  • Scientist-practitioner model within the Human Services Program, Clinical Program and Department of Psychology.
