Jason Jingshi Li, Computer Science Laboratory, The Australian National University.
A Short BioI was born in Quanzhou, China. I moved to the beautiful city of Auckland, New Zealand at age 10, where I attended Rutherford High School and Avondale College, in the latter where Mr. David Stillaman spoilt us with 19th century Anglo-Celtic poetry. After high school I departed the land of long white clouds to pursue tertiary studies at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. While I was studying I had part-time positions as a programmer / research assistant first at the Victor Chang’s Cardiac Research Institute (04-05), where I had a first taste in the world of bioinformatics; then at the Neuropsychiatric Institute at the Prince of Wales Hospital, Sydney, where I completed my Master’s project in biomedical engineering in neuroimaging under the supervision of Dr. Wei Wen. Before that I completed my undergraduate honours thesis with Dr. Rex Kwok and Prof. Norman Foo. In 2007, I decided to complete my graduate studies in Artificial Intelligence at the Australian National University in Canberra, Australia under the guidance of Dr. Jochen Renz. I was part of the inaugural (and final?) ANU-NICTA’s MICT-PhD programme, where one complete a one-year masters by coursework before commencing PhD, thus having one extra year of funding. The programme brought many students of diverse backgrounds together, but sadly it is no longer offered. Erdös NumberMy Erdös
