I'm an award-winning multimedia writer/director with a broad background in production, arts administration and creative consulting.

It has become my custom and profession to write or design for any purpose, as nearly anything can be improved by the right combination of words and images. (I mean, words and images are pretty much the standard for communication now, right?)

In 2008, I co- developed Julie's House-- a Jury Selection  in the 2008 Chicago Comedy Pilot Contest, a runner up that played at the Music Box to a packed house.

I've worked in advertising for almost a decade, as an in-house freelancer and as a satellite operation.  Last year I entered the wonderful world of consulting for a French multi-mega-conglomerate.

Concurrently,  I served as Company Manager for Reed Rigging and the Executive Director for Hypatia Theatre Company. Both roles required strong communication and organizational skills. In both positions I was able to firmly grasp responsibilities like a/p and a/r, human resources, marketing and general business administration, but with the contrasting priorities of for-profit and non-profit corporations. I understand business from a lot of angles. I understand purchase orders and budgets. I understand delivery drivers. I even understand outsourced customer service representatives.

I have written dozens of short plays and stories, and I've just completed a draft of the manuscript for my first novel: "The Separation of Powers." In the past, I've directed several plays on stage, been an award-winning sound, set and production designer. I've stage managed and I've acted. After College, I hosted a late night radio show for a year on 88.7 WLUW Independent Community Radio. During High School, I ran the youngest ever troupe to compete in Improv Olympic's Cage Match: Lozenge (hours of soothing relief).

When leadership is needed, it's easy for me to assume responsibility and suggest direction wherever possible, but I tend to encourage individuality and instinct as creativity engines. Creativity and collaboration are a symbiotic force.

My daughter, my favorite parasitic symbiote, was born in August 2008.

In the future I'll be seeking my MFA  in Comparative Media Studies, because I believe that what we say as a society of new media participants is not only important, but may very well hold the answers to our salvation as a culture.
