Welcome to the new website for the Jane Austen Society of North America--Indianapolis Region (JASNA-IR). I hope the information presented here will prove helpful and informative. We are a relatively new group, formed originally in 2006 and re-organized in 2008. Before the formation of this group, the Jane Austen fans in Indiana might have been members of the national group--JASNA and/or a nearby region--Chicago, Dayton, or Louisville, but had no central, more conveniently located group with which to meet and discuss all things Austen.     Our local group has sixty-one contacts on our email list and twenty-seven dues-paying members. We welcome anyone interested in Jane Austen and the Regency Period. Our meetings are informal, sometimes discussing one of Austen's novels, or sometimes mounting a special event such as a trip to the Indianapolis Museum of Art, an all-male panel discussion of Austen, or an annual December tea to toast Jane Austen on her birthday.
