Casa Jasmin

Casa Jasmin

is on the top (6th) floor of its building, with the casa occupying one half of the floor and the terrace the other half. Ninety years old, this casa has the traditional galeria style layout, with original stained glass walls wrapped around a central light well in the heart of the apartment.

We have just completed extensive renovations to this casa. While we retained the best of the antique features, the guest kitchen has a new granite benchtop and all new appliances, and the bathroom has a new high pressure shower and a new granite vanity unit.

This casa offers 3 double bedrooms (two with private balconies), and a large shared bathroom (including full tub). It is possible to reserve two of these bedrooms with a connecting livingroom as a suite.

It is our policy not to have more than four paying guests in the casa at one time (unless a group of five take all rooms). This ensures that the shared bathroom is adequate for all.

Within a block or two are:
  • Food, glorious food: a choice of places to buy great fruit and vegetables, specially shops for cheese and cold meats, or dried fruits and diet foods, panaderias for lucious bakery items, and small supermarkets         for staples.
  • More food: a choice of restaurants serving simple, delicious Argentine food, including one with an       outdoor terrace. We are also in the kosher food zone, with both sit down and take away kosher food available.

  • Laundries and dry cleaners: a choice of these
  • Chemists: lots, including those specialising in homeopathics and herbal remedies.
  • Hospitals: the large public hospital (and attached medical faculty) are three blocks away, and we are not far from the German and Italian private hospitals.

This is a double bedroom with a small, romantic balcony.

This is a double bedroom with french doors to a private corner of the terrace, which is like a tiny garden.

It is possible to book both the Fantasia Room and the Peony Room, together with the living room between them, as a private suite. Ideal for two friends who want privacy, or a couple who like an extra space when one person finds it hard to sleep.

A Tango lover's dream

Casa Rosa is in Facultad at Lavalle y Pasteur - only 2 blocks from both the 'B' (Pasteur) and 'D' (Facultad de Medicina) subte stops.

From here you can walk or take the subte one stop to the house of Carlos Gardel (now a museum) or walk to the El Beso and Porteno y Bailarin milongas (both 3 blocks) . The daily afternoon and evening milongas and daily morning classes at the historic Confiteria Ideal are only 3 stops on the subte or a 5 minute taxi ride away.

For classes at the prestigious DNI tango school you only need to walk one block. For those who aren't Tango crazy, DNI also offers yoga classes, salsa, Argentine folklore, as well as therapeutic massage and a bar to meet other dancers.

[Check our location on the interactive Google map on our blog, or you can check out the city's Tango Map for other milongas and tango shoe stores.]
