Experience contemporary and traditional visual culture in and around Tokyo and Kyoto at advertising agencies, museums, gardens, temples, and other sites. This course provides an exceptional opportunity to test and hone visual literacy skills as you observe, analyze and interpret visual information without the aid of text in your native language. Stay in a Zen temple, participate in a tea ceremony, stroll through a garden, taste okonomiyaki, navigate in the world’s largest city and speed past Mt. Fuji on a bullet train. This summer, immerse yourself in the rich visual culture of Japan. | Faculty Leaders: Dana Fritz, Associate Professor College of Fine and Performing Arts dfritz2@unl.edu Frauke Hachtmann, Associate Professor College of Journalism and Mass Communications 472-9848 fhachtmann1@unl.edu Contact us for more information and to be added to the e-mail list for updates. |
