I’m very grateful to Daryl for letting me share his excellent website. My Bio I'm an ex Londoner, living and working on beautiful Waiheke Island in New Zealand (population around 7000, slight culture shock....) I make rugs/wallhangings from recycled clothing and fabric (preferably Armani but nobody's donated any yet....) selling from my studio as well as other stores & the Waiheke art gallery - it's great how many intrepid travellers manage to find this lovely island..... the wallhangings are unique ‘one-offs’, although I’m always happy to make up the designs more than once – colours and fabrics may vary! It was a big lifestyle change from keyboard hotshot to rag rug artist but I encourage anyone who'll listen to follow their passions (in true Scorpio soapbox style, I probably get r-e-a-l-l-y boring about it...) but I AM passionate about everyone finding at least one thing that inspires them and following their heart and doing it because they love it.... fun is so contagious... I also give the occasional aromatherapy massage and work in my organic garden (join Soil & Health in promoting an Organic NZ by 2020) - growing my own food, herbs & flowers, which is a similar theme to the rugs in a way - both involve creating something new out of nothing much ... and I'm so grateful that I'm able to live by the sea in this magical environment and play at both….. All the wallhangings/rugs have a hem along to top to insert rod for hanging
