Homework Policy:
Homework will be assigned on a daily basis (every block period and sometimes on Fridays), and it is the student’s responsibility to write it correctly in their SCAB. Students must attempt every problem assigned.  Homework will be graded for points based on completeness, including in-class corrections. Homework will be recorded on a log sheet kept in the student’s binder. Late homework will receive partial credit and will only be accepted within one week of the original due date. I maintain a homework website that shows all current homework assignments, projects, test dates, and important due dates. Please check the website regularly to help your child meet class requirements. The homework website can be found by logging on to the school website at www.adams.smmusd.org.

Assessments:
Quizzes will be given weekly.  Tests will be given at the end of every unit.  In addition, cumulative quarterly, semester and final assessments will be given. Assessments will require a parent/guardian signature.

Make-Up Procedures:
Students are required to make-up all assignments, quizzes, and tests missed due to excused absences.  Students are responsible for obtaining the missed assignments and completing them within a week of the absence.  Any work not made up will be entered as a “0.”

Grades:
Students are assigned points for each assignment, quiz and test.  Grades will be earned according to the following percent distribution:  Assignments 20%        Assessments 80%

Getting Help:

Students who do not understand a concept should come get help right away! Students earning a grade below a “C” are encouraged to ask for assistance.
