Biography

(More specifically, my academic life projected onto a 5-dimensional subspace.)

I received my PhD in Quantum Information from the Institute for Quantum Computing at the University of Waterloo in Waterloo, Canada in 2012. I was fortunate to have a quantum supervisor, Ashwin Nayak, and an optimization supervisor, Levent Tunçel. I did my first postdoc at Université Paris VII in Paris, France where I worked with Iordanis Kerenidis from 2012-2014. I was an NSERC Postdoctoral Fellow at the Centre for Quantum Technologies at the National University of Singapore where I worked with Miklos Santha from 2014-2017. I did my third postdoc at the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics in Waterloo, Canada where I worked with Robert Spekkens from 2017-2020. Since 2020, I have been an Assistant Professor at Virginia Tech in the Computer Science department.
