Going off to greater things in the city

What you can do to reduce, reuse and recycle your waste

REDUCE – think about your buying choices so that there is less waste

ü      Buy products with less packaging

ü      Buy long-lasting rather than disposable products

ü      Request removal from unwanted mailing lists

ü      Read articles online rather than via print and send e-cards

REUSE – use articles many times, or pass them on for someone else to use

ü      Donate unwanted items to charity

ü      Share or borrow things that you use infrequently

RECYCLE – buy and use products that will not create lasting waste

ü      Use your council recycling bin correctly and as much as possible

ü      Turn suitable scraps into compost or worm farm fodder

ü      Buy products made from recycled materials

Choice Magazine is interested in seeing packaging you think is among the worst offenders, either for sheer waste or because it is deceptive. They are asking you to post the packaging (not the product) to them at:

                        Packaging, CHOICE,

                        57Carrington Rd,

                        Marrickville 2204.

If it’s too much to send, they would like a photo or at least the exact name of the product to check it out.

Mobile phones can be recycled at Telstra, Virgin, Optus & Vodafone shops and ANZ Bank branches.
