Open Your Own Doors To Opportunity Within... by Volunteering! <a href="contact.asp" target="_blank"><div style="text-align: center"><img style="width: 230px; height: 116px" src="img/RaisedHands.jpg" alt="" width="230" height="116" /></div></a> Are you ready to raise your hand? What does it take to be a volunteer? Volunteers are people from all walks of life, ages and stages. What they have in common is the desire to make a difference in their community and in their own life – by giving of their time and expertise. Some volunteers give just one hour each week; others devote many hours. Volunteers are involved in one-time events, as well as on-going commitments. Some choose to volunteer out in the community, whereas others are virtual volunteers from the comfort of their home. They may work alone or with others, do hands-on work or volunteer at an administrative or leadership level. Success is not something you wait for, but rather something you should pursue. Don't wait for extraordinary opportunities to find you. Seize common everyday occasions and make them great. At this very moment, you are standing right in the middle of many golden opportunities. District 56 provides numerous opportunities to volunteer for adding to your success. Act on your dreams and they shall be yours.
