Welcome to the (temporary) website of Jacob Jolij's research group. Here you can find information on us and our research. As the name of our group suggests, we work on conscious vision. We are interested in the function of conscious perception, the role of consciousness in higher mental processes, and in how the brain generates the 'picture in our mind' of the world around us. Our work is both empirical and theoretical; furthermore, an important part of our work is applied research: we actively look for practical applications of our theories on conscious perception.

On this website you can find more information on the people in the lab, and the stuff we do. Under 'publications' you can find our recent papers.

The Conscious Vision Lab is embedded in the Information Processing and Task Performance Group of Prof. Addie Johnson, Department of Experimental and Work Psychology, University of Groningen.

Some keywords: consciousness, visual perception, social neuroscience, TMS, EEG, fMRI

This webpage is pretty much a work in progress, so please do check back sometime later!
