JACOBIN CLUB

The Club de Jacobin  has returned in the same year as the double century of  Thomas Paine's passing. He was not a Jacobin,  but expoused many of the same ideals and had the support of English Jacobins. The forum aspires to the same concepts  - Liberty, Equality and Fraternity,  and it  draws its essence from Common Law principles.

However, the JC will not compromise on its essential goals of standing up for the "little man" and in its belief that mankind needs to be regenerated.

These are some of the objectives of the "Association".

1i)   There should be a precise definition of human rights to accord with group rights. Its motto is the following:

Rights of self determination against an oppressive order that takes account of the collective will.

 2)   The need for accountability of public bodies and the duty to give reasons.

it will lower the threshold for judicial review and  abolish ouster clauses in statutes.

3)    The discourse on liberty to understand the Harm principle as set out by  John Stuart Mill.

This will stop  abuse on grounds  of balancing the argument in favour of utility.

4)    The rejection of  an order where the Nobility is of birth for one that is of deed.

It is for an appraisal of how to peacefully reverse the hierarchy in British and Commonwealth societies.

These are goals around which a consensus can be achieved and you are invited to join. In order to become a member of the "Association" please email Jacobincl@gmail.com  . You will then be sent an application form.

I hope to hear from you soon.
