June 16: Jackson Selectboard voted to extend the Jackson moratorium on wind development for another 180 days.

May 19:
Dixmont Selectboard voted to extend the Dixmont moratorium on wind development for another 180 days.

March 21:

March 19:  Hearings were held in Augusta on LD-199, the state bill that proposes to remove local authority from decisions to site industrial wind turbines. Almost all public comment was against the bill. Many from Dixmont and Jackson testified. February 4:

Request for Proposals sent by Town of Jackson to potential wind energy developers:

The Town of Jackson owns a 300 acre property along a high elevation ridge (GIS info) with apparent potential for two or three wind turbines. There are two companies which have either optioned or leased nearby and adjacent land for wind power development.

The town requests interested parties to offer proposals of interest for wind power development in writing postmarked no later than Dec 15, 2008.

Proposals shall be addressed Brenda Denison, Town Clerk at.......
