If you are checking out this page I have to imagine that you know all of the torrid details of my life (perhaps even the condition of my foreskin). Would it be redundant of me to tell you a little bit about myself here? Probably, but then again if you are checking out this site then you probably are the sort of person who likes to hear it all over again. So . . . where to begin?
I was born at what seemed to me to be the perfectly appropriate hour of 2:27 am (I have heard that Mom and Dad would have possibly liked it to have been a bit earlier, and both of my Grandmothers would have liked to have been able to see me sooner than eight and a half hours later when visiting hours began) on Tuesday August 28th. At birth I weighed 9lbs 4oz, which again seems just right to me, but others have noted that it seemed a bit big to them (Mom may have mentioned it once or twice).
I have been getting used to Mom and Dad, which has taken some work. It turns out that they have never done this before and pretty much don't have a clue. To make matters worse, they have read too many books -- in my opinion that puts them in the "a little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing." So over the last few weeks we have been trying hard to get to know each other, and I think that I can read their sign by now. I know that I should cry when they want to go to sleep, and at least fuss when they are getting ready to eat. They seem to think that these are fun games, and get up and start swinging me back and forth. I wouldn't mind getting a bit more sleep at night, but for some reason Mom feels the need to wake me up to feed me every three to four hours each night (although there have been a couple of nights where I have only gotten one hours sleep -- after the burping and changing etc. -- before she felt the need to feed me again . . . and then had the nerve to think that it was what I wanted to be doing). But all in all they seem to be doing a pretty good job.
