Immaculate Heart of Mary ParishOur life in Summit County, Ohio is centered on our Catholic life at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.

Immaculate Heart of Mary SchoolOur children are now attending the IHM Catholic school.  The school offers a Christ Centered Environment that supports our personal beliefs as practicing Catholics.

Vacation Bible SchoolThe entire family had a great time at the 2005 "Serengeti" Vacation Bible School. We recently enjoyed the 2006 "Fiesta" VBS during the week of July 10th.

Girl Scouts of the USA LogoWe are strong believers in both of the Scouting programs.  Mom was a Senior Girl Scout.

Cuyahoga Falls Water WorksWe truly enjoy our membership at the Water Works Aquatic Center in Cuyahoga Falls.  We have also made use of the swimming lessons offered at the Natatorium in the Falls.  The Water Works Park is behind the aquatic center and features soccer fields and ball diamonds.

Stow-Munroe Falls Public LibraryWe frequently visit the Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library in Stow, Ohio.  Plenty of activities are available.

During the fall we plan a visit to the apple orchard.  Autumn is perfect for strolling through an apple orchard picking apples with the family.  We visit the Beckwith Orchard in Kent. It is the perfect place to view the beautiful fall foliage.  We have all been on their tour and made it through the corn maze.

Fall is also the best time to visit the Lake Metroparks Farmpark in Kirtland, Ohio in Lake County. It is a bit of drive from Summit County but well worth it.  All the standard farm animals are there along with llamas and alpacas.  Special weekends are offered throughout the year.  Our favorite is the sheep dog demonstrations.

We hold a membership with the Akron Zoo.  The benefits include access to other zoos, including the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo.  It is nice to visit a zoo without trying to see it all in one day.  We can always come back.  Both zoos are very nice and are adding attractions each year.

An annual treat is the City of Stow July Fourth Parade.

Our backyard has a lot of different animals.

The Mum's the Word Greenhouse is a must visit every April.  It is located at 555 Congress Lake Road in Suffield, Ohio. The phone number is 330-628-3892. The Goodyear Blimp is hangared at Lake Wingfoot, just northwest of Mum's the Word.
