Welcome on this GooglePages Test- and Review-Page
What is it all about? On this site, I am testing the new GooglePages for you. GooglePages is basically just another free website provider out of many. But we all know about Google's domination in the business. Anyways, the topic of this page is the product, not the company. Google published this new feature on Feb, 22th 2006. When you sign up you will get 100 MB of webspace -which is a lot- without any advertising or other annoyances implemented. Is GooglePages feature rich? The short answer is no. A longer one is that you can only create single pages that can contain text, images, video, other media and links. It seems like you can upload any file format you like. You can define the page layout how you like it: A single content row, three rows or like on this page, a sidebar - left or right, your decision. All templates can be used with your layout. Imagine you want to fill a website with contentHow will you organize everything? You have to set every link all by yourself, linking all your thoughts, articles, pictures etc. by hand. The more content you will make available on your website, the more confusing will it be to organize everything. What is missing?Features that modern Blog and Content Management Systems are bringing to the masses. Such tools would make GooglePages a keeper. Also, it would be good to enable the user to use things like builtin scripts like, for example a simple counter, visitor statistics, a message board, a guestbook, a shoutbox or the ability to let visitors comment on articles.
