Excellence plugin 1.20


Excellence is a Total Commander plugin allowing users to see the contents of spreadsheet documents in commander's Lister (F3), Quick view panel (ctrl+Q) or as small thumbnail images (ctrl+shift+F1). To install it, locate the plugin's zip file in commander and hit enter.

version 1.20 opens the following types of files:
  *  xls         - Microsoft Excel  (common format)
  *  xlsx, xlsm  - Microsoft Excel 2007  (office open xml)
  *  xlsb        - Microsoft Excel 2007  (new binary format)
  *  xml         - Microsoft Excel 2003  (unpopular xml format)
  *  ods, sxc    - OpenOffice Calc  (open document format)
  *  uos, uof    - Various programs  (uniform office format)
  *  gnumeric    - Gnumeric (new format)
  *  ksp         - KSpread  (native format)
  *  csv         - Various programs (comma-separated values)
  *  sylk, slk   - Various programs (symbolic link)
  *  dif         - Various programs (data interchange format)

version 1.20 also brings unicode support for file names, introduced with tc7.5 (everything else was unicode from the start);  also, users of tc7 or newer do not need to bother with second find dialog anymore.

note 1: the plugin uses only the file extension to decide whether to load the file. if the document has wrong extension, the plugin will not load it until you rename it.  maybe i'll do content detection later if people request it.

note 2: to display *.xml files created by excel 2003, in plugin list excellence needs to be above plugins that would display all xml files (like synus); or you can hit '4' to switch between plugins. not that anyone realy used that file format ever....

note 3: cells in csv files are supposed to be separated by commas; still excel puts semicolons between cells. that is why the plugin has two modes. it should start in proper mode on its own, but just in case (if you see everything in first column) you can hit '4' on your keyboard to switch between two modes.

note 4: support for uniform office format is somewhat lacking because i have trouble finding readable documentation or decent converters; i will improve it in weeks to follow...
