Rubrics in Assessment
This resource for the IUPUI community provides an overview of assessment rubrics: what they are, how they can be useful for learners, instructors, and the institution, how to create and use them, and where to learn more.
You can browse among online articles, web sites focusing on rubrics and related assessment topics, and samples of rubrics that might serve as starting points for adaptation to meet the needs of teachers and learners at IUPUI. Using common rubrics can help assure meaningful documentation demonstrating how well our students are meeting the expectations laid out by IUPUI faculty in the Principles of Undergraduate Learning (PULs) and other learning outcomes.
The IUPUI Center for Teaching and Learning is collaborating with the ePortfolio initiative and the Division of Planning and Institutional Improvement to offer a variety of workshops and consultations dealing with assessment topics, including rubrics and assessment of the PULs. Information about upcoming opportunities is available elsewhere on this site. |
