What I've learned about IT Not much so far but I'll try and add more as I learn. I was initially very enthusiastic about the free website you can get from microsoft at officelive but I cooled on the whole thing because of the terrible email application. When I started having problems accessing it I did a search and found that there were all kinds of problems with microsoft email. I must say that at he time I had absolutely no cash and this was the only way to get on line. I'm still quite proud of the website I created and, even though I stopped promoting it, it generates respectable traffic even now (by my low standards I get about a dollar or less most months from adsense). I can turn my tapes into mp3s by simply putting a tape in a walkman, attaching the walkman headphone socket to the computer mic socket, with a cable you can buy from any electronics store (well I found one and I'm no expert) which has the same mic/headphone connection at both ends, and recording with mp3 my mp3 which is free from www.mp3mymp3.com . I'm recording my lps as well. The internet can be accessed without spending any money. This site is provided free by google pages and it gets an impressive number of clicks, even compared to the proper business website which I promote to the best of my ability by leaving the link to it on www.gumtree.com and wherever I can think of, the easiest way to tell is the number of adsense page impressions it generates. Joining forums and any other type of internet community that allows you to leave links. And do whatever it is that you are interested in. My proper website is www.spiralcat-translations.com and me and my partner translate between English and German. We advertise on free small add websites like gumtree and it generates a lot of business for us. Www.Kijiji.at is the best at the moment because most of our customers are from Germany or Austria. The money is not being generated directly by the internet but the internet is acting as a contact point between us and our clients. It's working so well that we think we can carry on our internet business from anywhere in the world. We did a translation while on holiday on Ischia last year and we are going on an extended working vacation to Australia and NZ in about a month. I'm really into the idea of passing on what I learn or experience back to the web in a kind of karmic repayment way
