Evaluation and Required Projects

10% Class attendance and participation in class
Class participation includes: attendance and active participation in class activities. You are allowed one excused absence. Your grade will be dropped one grade for each unexcused absence or more than three unexcused tardies. Exceptions must be discussed and agreed to by both the instructor and student prior to the event.

10%  Collaboration and Teamwork
Collaboration online and in class participation. This
is an essential component for the 21st century!
You will work with peers in many ways but earn an individual. Note, collaborative projects are integrated into the content of this class. The assessment of collaborative projects will be considered by individual participation and structure of the team work. Team work in class and online is required. Your participation in the NING is part of your grade. You are also evaluated on the effective strategies you devise to build a team and how you share the burden of the work. A written narrative will be required by each member of the team. This is an individual assessment.

10% Blog, Discussion, Reading Response
Post to the class NING, which includes a Blog, discussion and video sharing. There are two books (print or eBook versions) and occasional short articles to read for class. These materials are the theoretical foundation to the content being studied. It is expected that each student will read and respond to the reading and exercises as part of this class. Weekly posting to your NING Blog and at least 3 comments on classmate's posting, and reflection on the exercises and reading will be the basis of your grade.
