| My Maps Interactive maps that can be shared. - Log into your Google account
- Select "Maps" from the Google account menu bar. (hint: it moves to "more" or sometimes to more choices in "even more"
- Once your are in maps.google.com, select My Maps
- Click to "Create new map", put your title "5 best "your topic" in the Bay Area" description, and save. Make it public.
- Click "Collaborate" to share with your blue bird or red bird partner and the teacher. Note - in this case, check the box "allow collaborators may invite others".
- Create a tour map by first finding your start location, the place a marker, choose a representative icon, and write your description.
- Search for your next location, and when you find it, add it to "my maps" and select your named map. Now are able to begin making your custom map.
- Add markers fro all your locations, from the Google list or you can try to add photos or video too.
- Get fancy with pictures - Use Creative Commons Search
- To add video, you will need the embed code from YouTube and add it to the custom html of your marker. (You can watch the how to video again if you want specific directions)
- Next draw your route with the straight line tool.
- When you are finished click 'save' and click 'done' when you are getting ready to export or embed your map.
