Instructional Methods, Materials, Course Requirements

This course will have 4 required classroom meetings

  • One (1) full day 6 hour class                                                8:00am – 3:00pm including breaks and lunch
  • Three(3) evening classes                                                     4:00pm to 7:00pm

These classes will occur over a 7 week period of time. Between each live classroom meeting teachers will be required to participate in an online discussion, and post to their blog that will be monitored by the instructor. Check your grade!

Attendance: Teachers must attend every class session. Many of the requirements involve a product and collaboration with a partner, not just knowing the concepts. Class performance includes attendance, working effectively in cooperation with peers, posting online, e-mail and meeting deadlines. The final assessment or grade will be lowered for unexcused absence or tardiness. Class session: 2/20, 2/23, 3/9, 3/23. Class sessions missed due to excused absences require completion of assigned activities to receive full credit for this course.

E-mail and access to an online web browser is necessary for this course.

Accommodation Statement: 
If you are a disabled student requiring special accommodation in this course, you must be registered with the Office of Disabled Student Services (DSS). Your counselor will give you a letter that you must deliver to the instructor in person, at which time an appointment will be arranged to discuss appropriate accommodation. This must be accomplished during the first three weeks of the semester.

Grading Information: 
Projects must be turned in on the appointed day. Students are encouraged to reflect and revise projects based on feedback from their class peers and instructor. You may revise your project(s) and turn them in again to the instructor for feedback and a revised grade. This must be completed before the last class meeting.

Course Assessment

    91% - 100% A = Outstanding achievement for the highest accomplishment

    80% - 90%   B = Praiseworthy performance; definitely above average

    70% - 79%   C = average; awarded for satisfactory performance.

    Credit or No Credit – awarded for a minimum of satisfactory performance

*Rubrics are used for assessment and feedback on your project

Assignments and projects must be turned in on the indicated due date to be considered for full credit. Assignments and projects are not accepted after the last class meeting.
