Here we will post children´s songs and lyrics. The songs are performed by one of Stóru-Vogaskóli´s Comenius representative Hannes B. Hjálmarsson and his band The Lame Dudes.
Bí bí og blaka
Krummi krúnar úti
Fljúga hvítu fiðrildin
Fljúga hvítu fiðrildin and other songs
Here are the lyrics for the songs.
Bí bí og blaka
Bí bí og blaka álftirnar kvaka. Ég læt sem ég sofi en samt mun ég vaka.
Fljúga hvítu fiðrildin
Fljúga hvítu fiðrildin fyrir utan gluggann Þarna siglir einhver inn ofurlítil duggan
Afi minn og amma mín
Afi minn og amma mín úti’ á Bakka búa. Þau eru bæði sæt og fín, þangað vil ég fljúga.
Afi minn fór á honum Rauð
Afi minn fór á honum Rauð eitthvað suður’ á bæi, sækja bæði sykur og brauð, sitt af hvoru tagi.
Sigga litla systir mín
Sigga litla systir mín situr úti’ í götu, er að mjólka ána sín í ofurlitla fötu.
Krummi krunkar úti
Krummi krunkar úti,
kallar á nafna sinn.
Ég fann höfuð af hrúti,
hrygg og gæru skinn.
Komdu nú og kroppaðu með mér,
krummi nafni minn.
Komdu nú og kroppaðu með mér,
krummi, nafni minn.
In Stóru-Vogaskóli we have been working on the selected songs. We have chosen five songs - four well known folk songs: Sofðu unga ástin mín, Þorraþræll, Krummi svaf í klettagjá, Öxar við ána and the we have recorded our school song. Soon we will put all the songs on the website. Íris og Hannes are now working on the dramatization.
One of the songs Stóru-Vogaskóli has benn working on is called Sofðu unga ástin mín - Sleep my young one - and there is a very famous story connected to this song. The story begins like this: Fjalla-Eyvindur or “Eyvindur of the Mountains” as it translates in English, was an Icelandic outlaw ...... (the rest of the story).
Here is a Power Point presentation with drawing from 4th class about peace and equality:
Slidshow from the Comeniusday in Stóru-Vogaskóli.

The Comenius project for the partner schools in Martina Franca in Italy, Konya in Turkey and Stóru-Vogaskóli in Iceland officially started with a meeting in Martina Franca on the 19th of November 2009. The groups from Iceland and Turkey arrived on the evening before and stayed at the Hotel Rococo in the old town. That evening the groups met with Aurelia and others from the home school. Over the next few days there were meetings, sightseeing (the wonderful Alberobello with all the trullies) and dinners. The plans for the coming work was laid out and the next meeting scheduled in Konya in June.
