BYLAWS OF THE KENNESAW STATE UNIVERSITY STUDENT CHAPTER OF THE INFOMRATION SYSTEMS SECURITY ASSOCIATIONS ARTICLE II: PURPOSE The purpose of the organization is to a) promote the education of its members and the community in all aspects in the field of information security; b) encourage a free exchange of information security techniques, approaches, and problem solving; c)keep members employers, the KUS communication, and the surrounding communities; and d) communicate to the KSU community, area businesses, and local information technology professionals the importance of establishing controls necessary to ensure the security of information and information systems. This will be accomplished through regularly scheduled academic achievement, and academic enhancement. ARTICLE III MEMBERSHIP The organization is open to all Kennesaw State University students, faculty, staff, and alumni. It will not discriminate on the basis of race, sex, sexual orientation, age, religion, creed, color, handicap, disability, veteran status, national origin, or ancestry. The requirements for membership are the attendance of at east one meeting each semester, the maintenance of the status of academic good standing, and the observance of the ISSA Code of Ethics. Members may terminate their members at any time by ceasing to observing the ISSA Code of Ethics. Forced member removal will result when a member fails to recognize and abide by the principles and policies that are specifically stated in the Constitution and Bylaws. The organization will ensure that their memberships will not behaviors-either intentionally or unintentionally. ARTICLA IV: OFFICERS, DUTIES, AND REQUIREMENTS The officers of this organization will form of a Board of Directors’ consisting of four members in good standing, a President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasure. The Faculty Advisor shall oversee all of the organization’s operations and aid in communication with the University if needed. The President shall act as Chairperson of the Board and shall have the deciding vote in case of a tied decision. The President shall also be responsible for overseeing the general operations of the organization, scheduling and calling meetings, and determination of agendas. The Vice-President shall attend to the duties of the President in his/her absence or in case the President’s office may become vacant for any cause, and attend to any other duties as the President may require. The Secretary shall record and keep minutes of all minutes of all meetings, and shall maintain the official records of the organization. The Secretary shall also maintain sufficient membership contact lists as to ensure that all members in good standing are notified of meetings and that the members receive all other correspondence necessary to the operation of the organization. The Treasure shall handle all monies or articles of value belonging to the organization and shall keep an accurate account of all treasury receipts, expenditures, and deposits. |
