Greetings everyone! The LAN is over and we consider it a success. Although we did play Call Of Duty (both Modern Warfare and World at War) at the start of the LAN, after such a long-long-long time Call Of Duty has been bumped out of the spotlight and a new game has taken its place...can you guess what it is? Big ol' hint right up there....
Yup LEFT 4 DEAD has taken the lead and won the people’s hearts--in a zombie slaughtering, team play focused, survivor kind of way. Even the polls we have didn't anticipate anything like this! Technically overall LAN attendance was up by two people, but it stayed at our crappy average of six people (laptop graphics failing, another guy had to go to work). In the end though this proved to be a good thing, since co-op Left 4 Dead became the mainstay of the LAN. Normally at each LAN we set up a projector to watch a movie, but this time the game-play became a movie! One of our LAN crew (who was hosting the LEFT 4 DEAD server) hooked into the projector so everyone could share in the fun; however we hope for the next LAN we'll have versus mode ready to go. Of course there is a buzz kill to all this success.. and that was heat. The hi-end computers present and Michigan weather being was it is, the LAN was cut about an hour and a half short due to computers overheating; some even blue screened. So instead of ending at midnight the LAN ended at about 10:30. All in all this was a great LAN, and we definitely look forward to doing this again!
