Hiking, Climbing, and Exploring Vancouver Island since 1958!
Nanaimo Hiking Club with members from Nanaimo, Qualicum, Parksville, and other island locations.
Established in 1958, the club's primary objectives are to provide mountaineering trips and other outdoor activities, as well as to work for the preservation of parks and wilderness areas. The club offers a variety of activities throughout the year, including easy hikes and challenging climbs, backcountry ski trips and snowshoeing outings, and sport climbing at local crags. Two meetings are held a year, one in the spring and another in the fall, which, as well as being a chance for club members to meet and socialize, feature presentations from guests on such topics such as trekking in Nepal, climbing in South America, travelling to Antartica, or preserving the Vancouver Island Marmot.
Members range from from old to young, fit and not so fit, climbers and hikers. But they all love the outdoors and want to explore more of Vancouver Island.
Upcoming Trips - See the link above for the current schedule. More trips will be added so check back for updates.
Please contact trip leader 3 to 4 days before any day hike for details and any possible
