Invited: The Environmental Law Institute cordially invites you to the 2010 National Wetlands Awards ceremony, which will take place on Wednesday, May 19, from 6-8 p.m. at the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center, Room HVC-215. The National Wetlands Awards program honors excellence in wetlands conservation and has recognized more than 150 individuals for their accomplishments and years of dedication and leadership. Senator Benjamin L. Cardin (D-MD) will present this year’s keynote address. Sen. Cardin, along with Sen. Olympia Snowe (R-ME), Rep. Fred Upton (R-MI), and Rep. Jay Inslee (D-WA), are the ceremony’s Honorary Congressional Co-Sponsors. U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lisa Jackson will speak at the Awards ceremony. She and senior representatives from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the Federal Highway Administration, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Natural Resources Conservation Service, and the USDA Forest Service will present the Awards to: Jim Wilcox for Conservation and Restoration; Bill Volkert for Education and Outreach; The Laszlo Family for Landowner Stewardship; Rebecca Sharitz for Science Research; Michael Cain for State, Tribal, and Local Program Development, and Jan Vandersloot for Wetland Community Leader. 04/07/2010~~ SWS will soon welcome a Designate representing Russia to the Society of Wetland Scientists Asia Chapter.  Thanks to Dr. Richard Robarts known for his outstanding work in mapping all of Russian Wetlands for his recommendation ; The County of Sri Lanka will soon have her own Country designate (a Sri Lankan citizen) to SWS Asia Chapter.

03/06/10- Attend the 2010 Society of Wetland Scientists Org USA International Convention and Annual Meeting at Salt Lake City, Utah, June 27- July 2, 2010.  

03/04/2010- Invited by a US based Institute to nominate individuals for a prestigious 2011 Award and Prize for Achievement in Science in the area of Genomics.  Prize amounts to more than 200,000 US dollars.

 05/01/2010~~ Prof. Isidro T. Savillo attended the International Conference on Higher Education Research (ICHER):Utilization, Experiences and Discovery as  a Plenary Speaker on April 28- May 01, 2010 at the University of Northern Philippines, UNESCO City of Vigan , Ilocus Sur, Philippines.

Likewise besides being awarded a plaque as a Plenary Lecturer , Prof. Isidro T. Savillo is a recipient of the prestigious:
 ICHER'S OUTSTANDING INTERNATIONAL RESEARCHER AWARD  2010
for his excellent performance and exemplary achievement in the field of research of international significance.
