The 1^st International Student Conference "Time to Rethink Economics" is an opportunity for young and innovative students to develop their abilities in critical thinking of present and oncoming economic and social challenges. We invite students to present their achievements in field of economics and related social sciences.  

CALL FOR PAPERS

On behalf of the organizing committee, it is our pleasure to invite you to participate at the 1^st International Student Conference which will be held at Faculty of Economics and Business Zagreb, University of Zagreb, on June 12-13, 2009 in Zagreb, Croatia.

Undergraduate and graduate students from Albania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovak Republic, Slovenia and Turkey are invited to present their papers  in the 1^st International Student Conference in Faculty of Economics and Business Zagreb.

The conference provides students with an opportunity to present and share their ideas with their future colleagues. We encourage submissions from all disciplines in social sciences, including, but not limited to,

       Business Administration

       Economics

       International Relations

       Political Science

       Sociology

The main theme of the Conference is “Time to Rethink Economics”, with its sub-themes:

1. The European New Deal
2. Financial Crisis and its Implications on the World Order
3. Knowledge-based Economy: Is the Bologna Process Helping?
4. Is the Education of Economists Open Enough for Interdisciplinary Approaches and Ideas?
5. Subsidiarity: The New Stage in the Evolution of Welfare Economics
6. Social Psychology in Economic Studies

Besides the above defined themes, we encourage submissions of papers on closely related topics as well.

PAPER REQUIREMENTS

We will accept papers written in English by one up to a maximum of three co-authors.Your paper is expected to be sent in Word format, Times New Roman, font size 12, line spacing 1,5. Paper should range from 7 to a maximum of 15 pages in total (in detail under the tab Instructions for Authors).    

FUNDING

The expenses of travel and accommodation are to be covered by participants. The organizers will provide participants with a list of partner accommodation facilities (hostels in the city).

The participation fee is 15 € per person and covers: registration of participants, two coffee breaks, lunch, closing dinner and excursion to Plitvička Jezera. The fee is to be paid not later than April 15.

PLEASE NOTE: No matter if your paper is not selected for presentation, we expect you to come since you can participate in other activities like Round Table, Discussions, etc.
