Hi! My name is Tingting and I am the founder of Iron Lotus Fitness. I was born in China, grew up in Boston, spent a few summers living in California, and ended up moving to Hong Kong in 2005. This Cali girl (at heart) loves to snowboard, wakeboard, scuba dive, go dancing, travel the world, and cook up a storm in her kitchen.
After spending 4 years in the financial services industry in Hong Kong, first as an M&A banker then as a hedge fund financial analyst, I found myself wondering why I was constantly putting so much physical and mental stress on myself to achieve something that was not making me completely fulfilled. All those deals closed, presentation books and excel models, trades that made money or lost money... In return, I had developed extremely unhealthy eating habits, sleep patterns, and was sick about 6 times a year.
My happiest moments back in those days were the times I spent at the gym, working out, running outdoors, going swimming, going hiking, basically doing anything active. I started to practice yoga as a way to get away from the demands of the office and to treat myself to some R&R a couple times a week. Maintaining a busy work schedule, I started to involve myself in more sporting events, running three 10Ks, one half marathon, one full marathon, and one mini triathlon in the span of 6 months. Along the way, I continued yoga to help me stretch before and after training sessions.
 This was the beginning of my personal transformational journey, which took me to Thailand then back to Hong Kong and to both coasts of the US, practicing yoga, learning from different teachers, training on my own, and finally obtaining teaching certificates in personal training and yoga. Still constantly learning from each new experience that I have, I am delighted to share my experiences and hope to offer anyone, who is looking for a change in his or her lifestyle, the tools and knowledge to live better, healthier and happier!
