If you're between 5 and 12 years old and would love to test your swimming, biking, and running skills, please join us in a Youth Mini Triathlon at IROC this Thursday:
There is no cost for any youth who wants to participate. This will be a fun challenge and a lot of fun, so don't miss out! Come and see what you can do!
Bring your swim suit and goggles, your bike and helmet, and sneakers,
and meet us at 10 am this Thursday at IROC!

Please note that the last day to sign up your swimmers for this meet is Thursday, 12/2, at 7pm. This will be a large meet with 4 teams, so we cannot add any swimmers after Thursday. As a result, be sure to sign up your swimmer and indicate your preferences for events before 7pm on 12/2. Coaches will do their best to accommodate swimmers' preferences but reserve the right to place swimmers in other events. Maximum number of individual events per swimmer is 3, plus 1 relay event.

Kudos to Emma, Grace, Brian, and Sarah who made ALL 4 practices this week!

 LAKE PRACTICE on TUESDAY, 7/5, at 10:00am Weather permitting, we will be having a 1.5 to 2 hour open water practice on Tuesday, July 5th, at Lake Memphremagog. We will meet at Coach Shannon's house promptly at 10:00am.
If your swimmer is unable to attend the practice or you need directions to Coach's Shannon's house, please email us at irocketsvt@aol.com.
We are in great need of parents/guardians who want to kayak or canoe alongside our swimmers and help out as spotters from the shore to ensure maximum swimmer safety. If you can bring your kayak/canoe on 7/5 at 10:00am, please email us at irocketsvt@aol.com ASAP. (Kayaks also available for rent at Clyde River Recreation at Gardner Park if you don't own one.)
As you may have heard, the Lancaster Meet on 7/26 was postponed due to rain and lightning. We just received notice that the meet has been rescheduled for Tuesday, August 9th (in 2 days) at 5:30pm. If any swimmer would like to attend, we need to know by Monday afternoon, 8/8. Please email the swimmer's name and preferred events (up to 5 maximum) to Teresa at IROCKETSVRT@aol.com so that she can compile the event list and send it over to the Lancaster coaches for processing. Please note that due to scheduling conflicts, no IROCKETS coaches or administrators will be able to attend this meet. Upon arrival, parents/guardians and swimmers will need to check in with Coach Shannon from the Lancaster team to receive their race cards.

 IN SEARCH OF MEMPHRE: An international swim across the border between Newport and Megog, In Search of Memphre is this next weekend. If you support a more open border and if you support this swim, you can make a donation at www.insearchofmemphre.com All donations go to IROC which is organizing the resumption of this 26 mile swim. Mandatory Parent Meeting - Wednesday, October 5th at 7:00pm
The IROCKETS swim season is planned and we anticipate that the IROC pool will be open in time for our start on October 4th at 5:45pm. As with previous years, pool practices are planned for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 5:45-7:00pm. Land practices will be held on Mondays from 5:45-7:00pm starting Monday, October 17th. More information will be posted here, on Facebook, and via email once we get closer to the start of our season.
