Welcome to all of our newest IROCKETS and welcome back to our existing team members. We had a wonderful turnout at our first swim team practice and we're looking forward to another great year.
We have a very exciting and very busy swim season ahead of us, so if swimmers or their families have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact any of our coaches, IROC staff, or parent supporters. Pool practices are held on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 5:45pm each week, and we'll start our Monday land practice sessions next week on October 11th at 5:45pm.
During the parent meeting tonight we talked about swim team basics including attendance (2 times per week of pool practice, plus land practice if possible), swim etiquette, pool rules, and _____. Additional information can be found on our website at www.irockets.org and we are pleased to announce that this year, the IROCKETS Swim Team is now on Facebook (just log into your Facebook account, search for IROCKETS Swim Team, and add us as a Friend). You will also receive regular emails and ample reminders as we have news to share and upcoming events to announce. As you can tell, we are committed to keeping families up to date on all swim events, practices (and cancelled practices), and other fun events that we plan throughout the year.
To ensure that the team gets the most out of each practice, we ask that any accompanying family members enjoy a seat poolside while their swimmers are swimming. There are many strategic locations where you can sit and observe your swimmer from a distance, and you are also welcome to make use of the lobby area or use any of the public computers available there. By keeping the pool deck as clear as possible, it also allows our coaching staff to have easy access to all areas of the pool, keeps the swimmers focused on them, and ensures maximum safety for the entire team.
