Development & Dialogue Association Home Contacts Activities Photos Education and School Building About us Development and Dialogue Association (DDA) is an Iraqi non-governmental, non-profit and non-partisan organization headquartered in Mosul, Iraq. A group of educated elites consisting of university professors, lawyers, founded it on 1 September 2004 in order to develop and encourage the growth of democracy in Iraq by facilitating dialogue sessions all over the country. These dialogue sessions appeal to different types of denominations and people throughout the country.
Since our main task is to develop Iraqi cultural awareness through discussion sessions focused on democracy concepts, the association is doing its best to facilitate sessions discussing democratic themes like human rights, gender equality, decentralization, federalism, elections and so on, according to the United Nations’ proclamations on these topics.
DDA also supports and conducts conferences and seminars, which advocate these democratic themes, and also provides training courses for facilitators. DDA does not hesitate to disclose citizens’ complaints and to diagnose corruption areas in the government’s structures. It also requires little additional effort for us to communicate the complaints of the people to the appropriate offices in the government that can help to resolve those issues. DDA helps to advance Iraqi society by encouraging community support for the construction of infrastructure and basic utilities by the government. As for education, DDA is doing its best to develop the education system through different programs in collaboration with the Directorate of Education.
