iTrail

Please Note

Like all iPhone applications iTrail cannot run in the background. That means that if you cannot see it on the screen it is not recording your work-out data. This means that other applications can interupt the iTrail's function, such as  choosing music tracks or receiving a phone call. Always restart iTrail when an interuption occurs. Choose the trail that was active and the press the continue button on its details screen.

iTrail - freeing location data on the iPhone !

iTrail 1.10 is available on iTunes now.

  • Now export your workout data to via Email. Getting your GPX or KML files has never been simpler !

  • Interface simplifications and improvements.

The idea behind iTrail is that you should be able to use your phone to track your performance whilst you are out doing physical things, running, cycling, hiking or skiing, and then be able to use the data how ever you want. Using iTrail you can record the trail you follow, and then plot it on a map. You can record how fast, how far and how high you went and then plot them on a graph. You store many trails and compare you performance between them. Your trails can be exported to an every growling list of websites and applications.

iTrail is an application that uses the on-board location-aware facilities on your iPhone 3G or 3GS. iTrail works best on the iPhone 3G and 3GS as they has a proper built in GPS technology, which can record your location frequently and extremely accurately. Whilst iTrail works on the first generation iPhone, the information it will give will be necessarily inaccurate, this is because it determines location based on the location of the cell tower you are nearest, and these are widely separated. iTrail will not work on an iPod Touch however as this has no location aware facilities.

iTrail is currently available in English, Japanese and French, Danish and German.

iTrail is in active development. I'm now working on iTrail 1.11 which will have lots of new features.
