Carberry is situated in a beautiful and historic woodland location with easy walks to the top of Carberry Hill, where a monument commemorating the surrender of Mary Queen of Scots to the Confederate Lords in 1567 is located. Carberry Tower, with a keep dating back to the 11th century is half a mile away. The estate surrounding it is full of interesting and rare trees all accessible through a woodland path from Inwood.

East Lothian is a lovely county with many special places of interest worth a visit. The seaside town of North Berwick with the award winning Sea Bird Centre is well worth a visit as is Dirleton Castle and its lovely gardens with the longest herbaceous border in Scotland. The city of Edinburgh is only 20 minutes drive away and the Royal Botanical Gardens are a must on any garden lovers visit.
