What is a TAIZE service? Taize services have been held in St Peter’s for several months.

They are quiet, reflective acts of worship, with simple chants and songs, a reading, intercessions,

and time for you to gather your thoughts. There is no sermon, and there are candles to light if

you feel inclined. No pressure, and time to contemplate life. Come and ‘switch off’ for half an hour.

News from Emmaus

The seven travellers returned from Rwanda on 12th November exhausted from 24 hours of travelling, including an overnight flight, but with minds and hearts full of all their experiences. A visit to the Genocide Museum was very hard to take – man’s inhumanity to man. Meeting the sponsored children was a privilege and we were delighted to take them out on a couple of outings. Seeing the poverty at first hand was heart breaking but the Orphans Project brings hope to as many families as they can. The lack of water at the hotel was challenging but the lovely summer weather and beauty of the fertile landscape was wonderful. We hope to have an ‘African Evening’ some time in the New Year to show photos and video clips of the trip; look out for the publicity.

All at Emmaus Church wish you a very peaceful and hopeful New Year.
