PILNING ARMY CADETS

PILNING RIFLE RANGES

NEW PASSAGE ROAD

PILNING

NEAR SEVERN BEACH

Detachment Commander Sergeant Hackett

2IC Sergeant Brand

The City & County of Bristol Army Cadet Force is broken into four companies

A, B, C, D depending on what area the detachment is based at, Pilning Army

Cadets is in B company. Your uniform will be provided free of charge,

however you will have to purchase boots and other equipment you may need for

example sleeping bags. We have a supplier within county that can provide

Cadets with cheaper equipment that they may want or need. The detachment has

some stores meaning that cadets do not have to buy everything as we will be

able to lend it to them.

As an Army Cadet you will learn new skills, including map reading,

navigational skills, first aid, teamwork and many more. You will also have

the opportunity to go away on weekend breaks and every year there is annual

camp where you can go away for 2 weeks and learn new skills, practice what

skills you have learnt and mix with other cadets from other companies. When

you go away you stay on different army base camps, this year for annual camp

cadets are being taken to Liverpool, a few years ago they were taken to

Germany for camp. You also have the opportunity to go to Normandy every year

at a subsidised rate.

Pilning Army Cadets parade twice a week Mondays & Thursdays 19:15 - 21:30.

It costs cadets 50p subs a night to attend, there will also be tuck

available should they wish to purchase any, known as NAAFI.

If you are 12 years old and in year 8 and would like to know more please

feel free to attend one of our parade nights to see what we do.

We understand if you would not be able to put the whole ad in if you did

need to cut it down would you be able to take the first paragraph out please
