Colleges with financial aid for international undergraduate students

Few private colleges and universities offer need based financial aid to the international students. Need based aid is awarded in a "package", which generally includes college grants and self help (job and/or loan). Financial aid based on need is awarded only after reviewing the detailed financial information of a student's family as recorded in the financial aid application forms, which is required of students applying for financial aid.

Need Blind

Only six institutions admit international undergraduate students under "need blind" policy. In these colleges, applying for financial aid will not affect your chances of being admitted. You will compete with other applicants for the available spots solely based on your academic and personal achievement. If you are admitted, the college will meet your full demonstrated need.

Need Aware but Generous

These colleges are not need blind but most of them provide generous aid to the international students they admit. The aid might even cover the full cost of attendance for those with demonstrated need. Competition for spot in these colleges is intense and you must be a top student in your country or have exceptional academic and personal qualities to get

Berea College provides full scholarships to every admitted international student; it admits about 25 international students, who demonstrate significant financial need, each fall.
