Make Homeless Families Count

Nearly 40% of the 3.5 million people who are homeless every year are families.

But the actual numbers are much higher because of one simple fact: The federal government doesn’t count families as homeless if they live in squalid and unsafe motels or doubled-up with others in cramped apartments.

We need to count ALL homeless families to ensure that federal funding matches their number and their need.
